The world is a small place

I arranged to meet up with an ex-AIESECer from Sri Lanka who was a member in my Local Committe when I was President. Madhuranga is here in Bangkok for the World University Games that just came to an end, after searching for his contacts in BKK for few days I finally got his number, called him up and arranged to meet up with him at the JJ market ( huge weekend market) where he was going shopping with others from the Sri Lankan team.

It's always good to meet your friends after sometime and I've not met Madhurange proper for couple of years now. We meet up at the clock tower and went around the market catching up with each other along with two other Sri Lankans and 2 thai girls who are guides for the team.

Once he was ready to head back I walked with him to the place where they would meet the rest of the Sri Lankan team...then came the big surprise cause I saw Thushan there !!!

Thushan was a class mate from school days and knew that he was at Med. Fac. Colombo still... it was total surprise as I wasn't expecting to meet a friend of mine there :) we were just regretting not knowing that each other was in BKK even when we saw each other online ( didnt chat) on MSN couple of days before...life can surprise you !

Instead of me showing him around BKK during his stay, we had to stick to hanging out for the next couple of hours as he was flying back to Sri Lanaka the next day and I am travelling on a3 day trip later today. He and few friends wanted to go to Pantip Plaza so I agreed to take them while the rest of the team went back to the games village.

While they were getting ready to go I was introducing myself to few of the others from Sri Lanka and found out that one girl from Kelaniya Uni was the friend that Chamindra had been telling me was in BKK. Its amazing that within that few mins I connected with 3 people who in one way or the other are connected to my life. :)

Isn't the world a small place?
